Let me get this straight: An angry mob of 15,000 decides to stage a violent protest on June 1, 2021, following the George Floyd incident. Police once again are summoned to protect lives and property, as they had been since the Occupy days of 2011. The mob throws bottles and—reportedly—a Molotov cocktail at the police (a claim that has since been retracted). The police in turn defend themselves by using tear gas on the mob, which dissipates into the night.
The Encampment Management Policy has NOT been implemented, despite the S.F. Chronicle’s fake claims
Sarah Ravani, who covers Oakland for the San Francisco Chronicle, threw shade on mayoral candidate Seneca Scott yesterday, because Seneca, as a post-partisan politician, isn’t woke enough for her. Reporting on Ignacio de la Fuente’s announcement that he’s also running for Mayor, Ravani had this to say about Seneca: “Scott tried to sue the city over its encampment policy, arguing it wasn’t being adopted, even though the city had already implemented the policy.”
Call the City Council and demand that they stop trying to defund OPD!
On Tuesday, June 21 (tomorrow), starting at 10:30 a.m., the City Council will meet to consider so-called “Midcycle Budget Amendments” to transfer funds from previously allocated departments to new purposes.
Countdown to our meeting
Poor Carroll. Nobody understands her
In a weird way, I feel guilty about making fun of Carroll Fife. I mean, she makes it so easy, because she says such silly stuff. Lately she’s been moaning a lot about how misunderstood she is. I don’t think anybody misunderstands Carroll Fife. The reason we distrust her is because we understand her all too well.
