I had a nightmare last night, a real terror that left me sweaty and fearful. It was a vision of Oakland, placed somewhere in the not-very-distant future.
Seneca Scott: An Appreciation
Election results: It's early, but some good results
As I write this morning, our Mayoral race is still undecided. The “rank choice” system is complicating things. But at this hour (about 7 a.m.), Loren Taylor has a nice lead over second-place Sheng Thao, while our preferred candidate, Seneca Scott, is trailing far behind, in seventh place.
Election Day!
Short post today. I’ll comment only on one topic: Sacramento’s Measure O. If it passes, Sacramento would essentially become the first California city to allow residents to sue the city for “harm [caused] by unlawful camping or unlawful storage on City-owned property.” If the plaintiff wins the case, Sacramento would be required to cover “their costs and attorney’s fees.”
Here we go!
Tomorrow is Election Day! I have to admit feeling antsy. It’s down to the wire. The Coalition came out strong for Harold Lowe, in D2, and Seneca Scott, for Mayor. We knew both candidates faced an uphill battle. Neither got union funding, because the unions know that Nikki Bas and Sheng Thao are buyable, and will be more pliable in their controlling hands.
