Wood Street situation pretty chaotic. We'll find out more tomorrow

The remnants of that horrible sprawl of encampments at Wood Street might finally be cleared—we hope—following Judge Orrick’s [reluctant] decision to allow Oakland to evict the 60 or so people who still squat there. Orrick—the same judge who has his boot on the neck of the Oakland Police Department and appears likely to keep it there—made it clear he personally didn’t want to make that particular decision. He wanted the homeless people to stay in Wood Street. But public pressure—and, perhaps, his own conscience—proved too much, and he yielded.

Who is really killing Black men?

Pamela Price said “The healing process cannot begin until we do our due diligence.” An enigmatic statement! What “healing process” is Price talking about? She refers to the families of individuals who were shot by police, usually while resisting arrest. Of course, we all wish peace upon those grieving families. But progressives are always more concerned for criminals than they are with the greater innocent population who suffer at the hands of criminals.
