I originally published this on my old blog on May 11, 2018, when Pamela Price ran for District Attorney for the first time. (She lost.) I’m republishing it again today. Every word I said, every warning I issued, has proved true. Read on.
The Wokest Department in Oakland
They’re at it again, the police defunders. This time, they want to slash OPD’s budget by $20 million. And what would they do with the money? Give it to Oakland’s Department of Transportation (OAKdot), to “spend on upgrades to road safety.”
Phillips: Any criticism of Black people is racist
Is it racist to state that the percentage of Black single-mother households in America dwarfs that of any other racial or ethnic group? Justin Phillips thinks so. The Chronicle’s race propagandist says anyone who points out this inconvenient fact is “recycling tired stereotypes and paternalistic viewpoints.”
Wokes: "Money? Don't worry about it. Just raise taxes"
There’s some debate out there about how to define the word “woke.” I think there’s not one simple definition, but that the term covers a range of aberrant ideologies and behaviors; and one of the most prominent concerns money. Woke people think that anything they want can be paid for with public funds—and if there’s not enough funding, then just raise taxes and all will be well.
CARE Court deserves to be tried out
There’s a certain type of homeless advocate that wants poor unhoused people to stay in the streets, even if they’re severely mentally ill. They tend to be identified in the media as “disability rights” advocates and claim that any attempt to shelter people against their will is an unconstitutional deprivation of their civil rights.
