A lot of people really don’t like the reparations plan that the San Francisco Board of Supervisors just unanimously accepted. Five million dollars per Black resident above the age of 18; a guaranteed annual income of $97,000; relief from taxes; wiping out all personal debt, and a home in the city for $1. Of course, people think this is insanity, and they’re saying so.
Thao: "We can't keep growing the Department of Violence Prevention"
If there’s any good news in reports that Oakland will have a budget deficit of $350 million over the next two years, it’s this: Thao says that she’s freezing hiring in the Department of Violence Prevention.
San Francisco’s reparations recommendations? Not worth even talking about
The 15-member committee appointed by San Francisco to recommend specific reparations for Black residents has now given their report to the Board of Supervisors. Let me be the first to say (although it’s politically unpopular to do so) that this wild, insane scheme is completely unacceptable, the product of disordered minds.
Cat Brooks was for the recall before she was against it
Cat Brooks is scared. The pending recall of Sheng Thao is freaking her out. Brooks controls much of the agenda at City Hall these days, what with the “progressive” takeover of Oakland politics, and if Thao disappears from the scene, that control is threatened. So Brooks is doing everything she can to pre-emptively deter any recall from ever happening.
Normalizing the Black Panthers
I can’t say I was surprised when Justin Phillips published his pro-Black Panther piece in the San Francisco Chronicle. Phillips’s job is to distribute race propaganda in order to assuage the White guilt of the Chronicle’s owning family, the billionaire Hearsts, and their disgruntled young woke white reporters.
