Carroll Fife, as readers know, has been pushing for Oakland to develop a 6-acre city-owned site at the old Army Base, to which homeless people could relocate. It’s an ambitious project, especially given the toxic soil that would have to be cleaned up, at huge public expense.

The left continues to push its fakest narrative, that any legal action against lawbreakers who are poor constitutes “criminalizing poverty.” I’ve dealt with this myth many times in this column, but the left keeps on trotting it out, practically begging me to slap it down again. I’m happy to oblige.

Cat Brooks is shocked, shocked by the shooting death of armed robber Jacob Harris, who violently invaded a fast-food burger joint in Phoenix, then held a gun to the head of an employee before making his getaway. When police tried to get Harris to stop, he led them on a high-speed chase before cops flash-grenaded his care, stopping it. Apparently still holding on to his gun, Jacobs attempted to run away, before one of the cops shot him in the back, killing him.

Chuck Thompson, in his controversial best-seller “Better Off Without ‘Em: A Northern Manifesto For Southern Secession,” quotes a southern analyst as saying: “Racism in the south is alive and well, but it is not the slack-jawed, tobacco-chewing stereotype of old. The new practitioners [of racism] are young, hip, and completely convinced they don’t have a prejudiced bone in their body. The greatest offenders in America today are the self-conscious and consciously anti-racial white liberals.”

Pamela Price, “Madame District Attorney,” has a Facebook page. Its formal name is “Pamela Price, Alameda County District Attorney - Personal.” Price describes it as “Minority-owned, Black-owned.” So I’m trying to figure out, What exactly is “Minority-owned, Black-owned”? The Facebook page? The Office of District Attorney? And why does Price need to refer to race at all? What would she say if Gavin Newsom had a “personal” Facebook page he called “White-owned”? She’d be howling from the rooftops.
