“Violence prevention” has become almost a religious mantra in Oakland. Politicians speak of it as a holy grail that will solve all our problems, if only it is properly funded. In fact, for professional pols such as Nikki Bas, Carroll Fife and Sheng Thao, talking about “violence prevention” has become their standard excuse for weakening the Oakland Police Department, while still pretending to care about the crime wave that is killing our city.

I’m so proud of San Francisco Mayor London Breed for her sane response to rampant public drug use in her city. She’s heeded the pleas of the people and vowed to arrest drug users, who are ruining wide stretches of the city. The good citizens of San Francisco want these lowlifes off the streets. Any normal city would long ago have scooped them up and thrown them in jail. But San Francisco, like Oakland, isn’t a normal city. The wokes, or “progressives,” with their Utopian fantasies, have far too much influence. For once, a Mayor is standing up to them.

If you’re not feeling safe in Oakland, it’s not your imagination: The statistics prove you’re in grave danger.  According to the Oakland Police Department’s End-of-Year Crime report comparing 2022 to the previous 5-year average, the following crimes all increased: premeditated murder, aggravated assault, assault with a firearm, rape, robbery, illegal possession of a firearm, carjacking, burglary, auto theft, and commercial robbery. In some cases, the increases were in double digits: homicides up 23%, carjackings up 53%, commercial burglaries up 56%.

No question about it, Price is running scared. She thought she could assume office and start carrying out her plan to “decarcerate” the prisons. But then she heard from us, the public, who were none too pleased that a soft-on-crime D.A. was intent on injecting her race politics into the criminal justice system. And we spoke up with a loud, thunderous NO!

The racists behind all the woke nonsense have yet another idea to keep us tribally separated. It’s called an “Ebony Alert,” and is similar to an Amber Alert, except that it would only apply to Black people.
