I’ve long said that disparities by race or ethnicity in police stops and imprisonments are due solely to the fact that some demographic groups commit crimes more than others.

My friend and colleague Jack Saunders gave me a book, “Hella Town: Oakland’s History of Development and Disruption.”  The author, Mitchell Schwarzer, is professor of Architectural and Urban History at California College of the Arts (where coincidentally I used to work).

She pretends to believe the Recall is a loser. But then, why is she fighting it so hard? Near as I can tell, her social media is pretty much 100% anti-Recall propagandizing. It must be sucking up huge amounts of her time and energy. When does she have time for DA’ing? But then again, she’s not really a D.A., she’s a criminal defense lawyer.

The thing to realize about the Oakland Unified School District is that, like every other department in Oakland, they’ve been taken over by far-left radicals. In what’s become known as the Long March Through the Institutions, the wokes have infiltrated and dominated City Hall, OUSD, labor unions, nonprofits, philanthropies, the media, and even our biggest corporations. But OUSD is in some ways the worst of the worst, and now they’ve really stepped in it: The federal Department of Education’s Office of Civil Rights has launched an official investigation into whether the district engaged in hateful discrimination against Jews.

Justin Phillips has to be the worst opinion writer in the Bay Area. He was hired by the Hearsts, for some unknown reason, to gaslight on racial issues, which is ironic, since he himself is a racist.
