Have you noticed how, no matter how many ways the Left hobbles police departments, they still manage to come up with new, more destructive ways of doing it?

The greatest quote I’ve ever read in the San Francisco Chronicle—the most truthful, anyhow—is this: “The [homelessness] problem is not going to be solved by building more housing.” It was San Francisco Mayor London Breed who said that. She added, “Thank goodness for the Supreme Court decision.”

I had a nice long chat yesterday with Leighton Woodhouse, the guy I blogged about the other day. He wrote “The Fall of Oakland” on his substack, which I published here, and which quite a few of you admired.

C.M. Woodhouse, in his Introduction to George Orwell’s 1946 masterpiece, Animal Farm, remarks, “It is impossible for anyone who has read ‘Animal Farm’ to listen to the demagogues’ claptrap about equality without also hearing the still, small voice that adds: ‘but some are more equal than others.’”
