Do you believe Barbara Lee’s calls for bipartisanship? I don’t. Not for a minute. This is a far-left politician who didn’t show a bipartisan bone in her body during nearly 30 years in Congress. She was known as one of the most partisan members of the House of Representatives, and she never sponsored legislation that garnered support from Republicans. Indeed, Lee practically never sponsored legislation at all. She was essentially a do-nothing functionary who went along with the Democratic agenda like a loyal foot soldier.
Messages to Lee and Taylor, from me
I’m sickened by the results of the mayor’s race. I thought Loren had a real chance. I’m also disgusted with the progressives of Oakland. Time and again they elect these incompetent socialists who do not know how to govern, how to lead, or how to rescue the city that their wokeness has brought to the brink of disaster.

Who's Da Mayor?
As I write this on Wednesday morning, Loren Taylor has a slight but impressive lead over Barbara Lee. The conventional wisdom, endlessly repeated by the media, is that early returns favor the more moderate candidate (Taylor) while later returns incline toward the progressive (Lee). So we should expect the gap to narrow in the next few days. At the same time, turnout in the Hills—which went heavily to Taylor—appears to have been greater than in the flatlands, which is a good sign for him. So we’ll just have to wait and see, frustrating as that is.
