The latest Oakland bureaucracy to go broke is the Oakland Unified School District, where the superintendent just announced the district is going to have to cut $100 million from its budget next year--20 percent of OUSD’s general fund budget. That’s a lot of money, and right now no one knows where it will come from.

As soon as I read these words from the Oakland Office of Inspector General (OIG), my blood boiled. “I want to take a moment to reflect on the progress our office has made and share our continued commitment to ensure accountability, transparency, and community trust in the Oakland Police Department.”

It was a good night for the opposition to Trump, which is to say, for Democrats. From the New Jersey and Virginia governor races to Zohran’s victory in New York City to right here in the Golden State of California, where we approved Prop 50 by an overwhelming 65%, Democrats won huge victories that must be viewed as primarily a repudiation of Donald J. Trump.
