I know I have critics out there, although I shouldn’t, because I’m right and they’re wrong. They bash me for all sorts of stupid things, but their most common complaint is that all I ever do is criticize stuff without coming up with solutions.
Well that’s a lie. I offer solutions all the time.
So here, again, are my solutions.
• Recall Carroll Fife
• Immediately end the NSA and sue Warshaw
• End the Dept. of Violence Prevention
• End the Police Commission
• End the Department of Race & Equity
• End the Privacy Advisory Commission
• End the Community Policing Advisory Board
• End the City Council’s Public Safety Committee
• End secret meetings between city officials and union officials
• Mandate a five-year limitation on new taxes of any kind
• Declare that it shall be official city policy that crime is a personal decision by the criminal and not caused by any external factors
• Declare that “race” shall never be the basis of any city policy
• Immediately commit to increasing the number of sworn officers in OPD to 1,100
• Assert a zero-tolerance approach to every homeless encampment and tent within the city’s borders
• Declare war on sideshows and dirt bike parades
• Insist that all street vendors possess a license to sell on the street, plus receipts for what they’re selling, and proof they’re paying sales taxes
All of these are eminently doable despite the left’s attempts over the years to make you think they’re not. If we want to return Oakland to being a normal city, then we must enact every one of them, the sooner the better, and tolerate no opposition.
