When Pamela Price made a rare public statement on Twitter, someone else tweeted a very good followup question, which I’ll get to in a minute.

Pamela Price told a local media outlet, SF Bay View (which calls itself the National Black Newspaper), “I ran for District Attorney of Alameda County in response to the startling racial disparities in our County with respect to adult and juvenile prosecutions.”

“All violence is state violence,” Brooks informs us. Now, you may wonder how the fatal slaying of 23-month old Jasper Wu in Oakland was an example of “state violence.” After all, the people who shot little Jasper weren’t state employees; they were Black gangbangers, engaged in a shootout on the 880 freeway.

Here’s what Fife said at a recent town meeting: “I’m gonna go hard, 110%, to fight for people like you, and for people who have less than you. That’s what I was put on this planet to do. And I will say, when you’re trying to shift systems, especially systems that are intended to not work for people like you, it is like moving a mountain.”

Democrats object to work requirements for certain persons who benefit from public assistance, but really, what’s wrong with the idea? I’d argue that it’s unfair to us taxpayers not to impose such requirements. If people want government assistance for things they didn’t pay in to, fairness and equity require that they get up off their couches and do something to pay back the taxpayers for our largesse.
