I’ve mentioned before that I like to watch KTOP television. They show commercial-free meetings of the City Council, the Police Commission and other Oakland agencies, in all their chaotic, numbing stupor. One thing you can practically guarantee is that the audience will be filled with rude leftists who interrupt speakers by yelling and clapping whenever they’re moved to, at the expense of decorum. These people shout down speakers with whom they disagree, and clap wildly whenever one of their favorites, such as Carroll Fife, says anything.

Carroll Fife has this quote from Huey Newton on her Twitter page:

I know I have critics out there, although I shouldn’t, because I’m right and they’re wrong. They bash me for all sorts of stupid things, but their most common complaint is that all I ever do is criticize stuff without coming up with solutions.

I’m tempted to use intemperate language against Carroll Fife and Rowena Brown in today’s post, but since I’m informed that this blog is read by many small children, I will moderate my words. So let me just say I have two words for Fife and Brown, and they ain’t “Merry Christmas.”

The most notable thing about Barbara Lee’s mayoralty, after six months in office, is how un-notable she’s been. We hardly see her on television, or hear her on the radio, and even when she’s on social media, she’s barely a squeak. When Her Honor does deign to make a few public remarks, they’re so bland, so puerile in bureaucratese pablum, that she might have said nothing at all.
